This event for First Nations youth in grades 7 - 12 will highlight technical careers in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and connect these topics to our traditional cultural teachings in a way that generates excitement and passion for these fields.
With workshops focusing on the connection between traditional Indigenous knowledge and STEM, presentations include how First Nations youth can help address climate change, the cultural significance of water for First Nations, environmental science through an Indigenous lens, traditional Indigenous housing compared to modern architecture, and more!
Students will also have an opportunity to meet and chat with representatives of various educational organizations as well as employers in the STEM fields who are interested in hiring First Nations youth at our tradeshow!
This event is open to all First Nations youth across Ontario.
Prizes will be awarded to students who attend and include a brand new laptop computer, a backpack filled with school supplies, and gift cards.
Funding for this event is generously provided by Indigenous Services Canada.
