Thank you for joining friends, family, and alumni of Saint Paul’s College (SPC) on our journey to reimagine our beloved college. Our founder, Arch Deacon James Solomon Russell (who was born a slave), was moved by his faith in God to establish an educational institution for formerly enslaved people in September 1888. This Historically Black College (HBCU) closed in May 2013, which created an economic, spiritual, and educational void in the community. To fill this void, SPC4LIFE, a 501(c)3 organization, was founded in September 2020. We are devoted to creating an equitable, family-based academic environment that will affirm and produce well-prepared and empowered leaders for the challenges of the evolving world.
Covid-19 has been detrimental to fundraising efforts and personal finances; however, our determination to reopen our college while revitalizing the hometown of Saint Paul’s College, Lawrenceville, Virginia and Brunswick County is much stronger. We are sponsoring a $20 for $20K raffle beginning November 5, 2022. Tickets may be purchased for $20. Each person who buys five (5) tickets will receive an incentive ticket at no additional cost. Our sole purpose of this fundraiser is to raise funds for the reimagining/rebirth of Saint Paul’s College.
The SPC4LIFE $20 for $20K electronic drawing will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 4 pm via Zoom, and the winner’s name will be posted on our website, www.SPC4LIFE.org. A Raffle Celebration and a live announcement will be held at the SPC4LIFE Headquarters, 300 North Main Street, Lawrenceville, VA 23868. The winner does not need to be present to claim the prize. Taxes will be the sole responsibility of the winner.
Thank you again for joining us in the reimagining of Saint Paul’s College.
