About the Event

Africa Fintech Summit is going virtual this year! Attendees can expect the same high-quality content and speaker insights that have influenced trends and opportunities in Africa's fintech sector since we launched the summit series three years ago. No longer restricted by physical borders, AFTS presents a wider range of thought leaders, topics, and innovators, to a more inclusive group of global participants.

This year, in consideration of the 500+ attendees calling in from across the globe, #AFTS2020 will occur in five hour segments over a series of three days. Each day will feature inspiring keynotes, four panel sessions, a startup exhibition and demo event, AI-powered networking sessions, and intimate fireside chats. On Day 3, ten startups will pitch for Pegasus Tech Ventures' Startup World Cup competition where the winner will go on to compete against other startups, worldwide, for a chance to win US $1M!

Everything from regulations, to customer preferences, and most notably, culture, influence the success and failure of fintech solutions.  Day One of Africa Fintech Summit 2020 dives into a conversation on regional ecosystems and some of the latest advances and shifts in the industry encompassing the entire continent.

Countless technology companies from a wide-array of industries utilize fintech applications to drive their businesses. Day Two of Africa Fintech Summit 2020 focuses on some of the sector technologies most enabled by incorporating fintech solutions to drive their business models.

Long hours and constant vigilance are just some of the characteristics that come with being a fintech entrepreneur. Day Three of Africa Fintech Summit 2020 is dedicated to those putting in the hard work as we explore the physics behind a fintech business and have earnest discussions about what works and what doesn’t.
