Research shows that we as humans learn best through stories. This session will provide an overview of some of the hot topics about the importance of oral storytelling. We will discuss vocal health techniques, storytelling best practice, and repertoire building for back-pocket stories.
Participants will also learn a variety of new stories and develop confidence in storytelling.
Alex May obtained her Mast of Education in Educational Research & Early Childhood Multiliteracies Studies from the University of Calgary. Alex has previous experience as an Early Literacy Specialist with the Calgary Public Library prior to founding Rhyme and Reason Early Learning Program in 2012. She is currently the founder of Rhyme and Reason and in this past year become an instructor at Bow Valley College, ELCC.
Alex also gives back to the community by participating in early learning advocacy groups such as the NW/W Coalition-First 2000 Days Network.
