Welcome!
In a year like no other, more and more parents and educators—occasioned with having to educate their children and students in new ways—are asking deeper questions about the why’s and how’s of education. And many are turning to the educational insights of Charlotte Mason for ideas and inspiration.
Are you one of the growing numbers of educators attracted to Charlotte Mason’s design for a relational education? For an education offered in a living environment filled with books, experiences, nature, and ideas, where the child is viewed as a person and the educator as one who cooperates with God?
Whether you are new to Mason’s design for education or a seasoned Mason practitioner, if you are looking for a rich, relaxing, relational space in which to explore and learn about current Charlotte Mason education from peers and experts, this year’s Charlotte Mason Institute (CMI) conference is for you.
CMI’s whole purpose is to promote, study, and share the principles and practices of Charlotte Mason’s design for education. And we’ve done so for almost two decades.
In its 17th year, CMI's annual conference is dedicated to a relational education for every teacher and student in every setting. This year, you will be welcomed to our first virtual global conference. It will run from Thursday to Saturday, June 17 to June 19, 2021, and center around the theme of Science and Faith.
In addition to our six keynote talks, the conference will also include 30 workshops and numerous vignettes by Charlotte Mason contributors, authors, and educators from across the globe. And you won’t miss a session because all plenaries and workshops will be available to participants for 30 days following the conference!
Just like our in-person conferences throughout past years—and like the in-person ones we’re planning for the future—this year’s virtual platform will offer an engaging, peaceful, and relational experience for all. Unique opportunities are being planned to create and continue relationships with fellow attendees, speakers, and the CMI team.
And for the creatives among us, we encourage—where pandemic restrictions permit—small groups of educators to gather in comfortable retreat-like settings across North America (and beyond) to participate and share in this conference experience together.
