At the fourth annual Mentoring and Advising Summit, participants will engage with and learn about specific tools, techniques, theories, and concepts to support students as they chart goals, develop enduring networks of colleagues and mentors, and sustain their pursuit of success after graduation. We will explore how we can continue to build a strong culture of inclusion in our mentoring and advising work through embracing different ideas, critical perspectives, challenges, and lived experiences.
The Summit is hosted annually by the University of Pittsburgh. This year, the event is open to the public: Any faculty member, staff member, administrator, graduate student, or researcher from any institution is invited to participate!
We are offering dedicated tracks for advisors and mentors who work with undergraduate students, as well as graduate and professional students. In addition, we are happy to welcome colleagues from the Reinvention Collaborative who will be participating on a personalized track as well.
Why should I participate?
What is the difference between a track and a tag?
The Summit agenda has three dedicated Tracks for attendees who are interested in content that is specific to these areas: undergraduate students, graduate and professional students, and the Reinvention Collaborative Academic Advising Community of Practice. Attendees can follow one specific Track, move between Tracks, or not follow any track. Tracks are optional.
To further personalize the experience for attendees, Tags have been assigned to every session so that attendees can search, filter and find topics and themes that are relevant to their own interests. The Tags include: COVID-19, Student Success, Inclusive Advising, Advising Support, and Technology.
If I have questions, who can I contact?
